Santa Maria, CA – Santa Barbara County Democratic Party Chair Darcel Elliott announced the endorsement of Gloria Soto for Santa Maria City Council.
Gloria Soto was elected to the Santa Maria City Council in November 2018. As Councilmember, Gloria has proven to be a leader on important issues like housing affordability, low-cost clean energy, and supporting youth and families. Gloria represents Council District 3, which includes most of southwest Santa Maria.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, Gloria is the daughter of immigrant farm-working parents. Gloria learned the value of hard work and determination and the importance of giving back. For over a decade, Gloria has served as a non-profit professional, working to improve healthcare access and provide leadership opportunities for local youth.
“The Democratic Party endorses Gloria Soto for re-election to the Santa Maria City Council. During her tenure, Gloria has developed a proven track record of fighting for working families, and working to make housing more affordable,” said Democratic Party Chair Darcel Elliott.
Community members who are interested in getting involved in Gloria’s campaign can visit the Santa Barbara County Democratic Party website and sign up to volunteer.
