Gail Teton-Landis, Chair of the DPSBC, announced the endorsement of Oscar Gutierrez, for re-election to the Santa Barbara City Council in District 3. “We appreciate the dedication that Oscar has for the Westside residents while tackling issues that effect the whole city,” stated Ms. Teton-Landis.
The Santa Barbara City Council election will take place, November 5, 2019.
The DPSBC will also consider endorsements for Santa Barbara District 1, The Eastside; Santa Barbara District 2, The Mesa; and Santa Barbara District 6, The Downtown area at its June 6th meeting.
Teton-Landis suggests all interested candidates contact Endorsement Chair, Joe Pierre at He will walk candidates through the process which includes filling out a questionnaire and coming for an interview, Thursday, June 6. Applications will be due May 31.
Teton-Landis recommends that, “All people interested in our endorsement process, or any other aspects of the Democratic Party of Santa Barbara County should visit our web page at sbdems.org/endorsementprocess.”
Lastly, she reiterated, “The local party appreciates all candidates who wish to serve the public and welcomes all Democratic candidates to apply for the party endorsement.”
